Railway safety

As the only Danish operator and infrastructure manager with a BOStrab Operations Manager, safety is our top priority. 

This means, among other things, that we:

• continuously try to prevent and minimise the consequences of accidents by managing all risks related to railway safety in an operational hazard register
• continuously improve safety systems and safety culture by taking corrective actions based on improvement suggestions, incidents, inspections and independent internal audits
• work to maintain and improve railway safety
• require and monitor the safety performance and quality of subcontractors

Cyber and information safety

As a supplier of critical infrastructure, it's important for Metro Service to continuously improve with our cyber and information security. 

IT is a huge part of our employees' everyday lives, so it's important that they are aware of their role and responsibility in terms of the security of the organisation - and ultimately the safety of passengers.

That's why we are committed to continuously training our employees in both cyber and information security.

Working environment

The working environment is very important to us. It has to be pleasant, safe and secure to work at Metro Service, whether you are employed as a technician, steward, light rail driver, customer service representative or HR consultant.

Some employees operate heavy equipment, and many have evening and night shifts, which requires extra focus on the working environment. 

At the same time, we put a lot of effort into preventing work-related accidents, reducing work pressure and further improving the working environment. We follow the principles of the ISO 45001 health and safety standard and make an effort to record and analyse every single health and safety incident.

We have a special focus on stewards' working conditions, and through a number of violence prevention measures, we have significantly reduced the number of verbal and physical assaults on stewards.

We are also a 100% smoke and alcohol-free workplace.

Environment

As a public transport operator, we recognise our environmental footprint and are dedicated to ongoing initiatives. These efforts include sustainable investments, energy and water saving measures and a focus on waste reduction within our operations. These initiatives are integrated into our environmental management system.

Certificates

At Metro Service, we comply with a number of international standards, several of which we are also certified in. These include ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001, and we are of course approved by the Danish Transport Authority.
